Timberol
Aroma Chemicals
Synonyms: karmawood, Norlimbanol, Nimberol
Classification: Base Note
Odour Alike Natural : Dry Woody, Amber character
Odour Family : Woody
Appearance : Colourless liquid
Odour Profile :
Timberolpresents a powerful, dry woody-amber character with distinctive cedarwood and driftwood facets, complemented by subtle animalic undertones that contribute depth and sensuality.
Uses :
Primarily used as a potent performance enhancer, fixative, and structural element across the entire fragrance pyramid, particularly in woody, ambery, fougère, and leather compositions.
Timberol® is the classic Firmenich version of Timberol. It is a racemic blend and so is softer and easier to work with than the highly purified Timberol® Dextro which we also stock; this racemic version is also much more affordable.
Like the dextro form, Timberol— in traces — boosts the woody and ambery notes of a fragrance, with an impact from top to bottom. This is the hedione of wood materials. It is indispensible and every perfumer should have it even if they already have Timberol® Dextro.
Timberol® blends beautifully with Sandexol®, Ambre Royal, Ambrexol™ and Royal Leather.
NOTE: We package all high odour or high risk materials individually in separate heat sealed aluminium bags to mitigate any risk of cross-contamination.
