Eugenol presents a powerful, warm, spicy aroma with distinct clove-like character, accompanied by dry, somewhat sharp, woody and phenolic nuances.

Uses
Essential for carnation and rose accords, adds depth to oriental compositions, and contributes authentic spiciness to diverse fragrance families.

Eugenol has the most entrancing and familiar scent of clovebuds, bringing to mind delicious roasted meats, spiced cakes and puddings at Christmas and, perhaps less pleasingly, dental visits!

The earliest production of Eugenol for the fragrance industry was exclusively as an extract from cloves. In those earliest times, different fragrance houses had different qualities of eugenol and great care went in to selecting the finest. Today with limits on the oil in finished fragrances, the material tends to be neglected and most perfumers purchase on price alone.

At Fraterworks we have a passion for beauty, especially as it was seen in the history of our art. And so we have carefully analysed the natural clove extracted Eugenol offerings from numerous companies to offer this beautiful product, as precious as the essential oils from which it is taken.

Historically Eugenol was kept in iron drums which would turn the oil deep red. Today we use stainless steel and our oil is a pale straw colour.
